Domain Name Transfers

Domain transfers can be submitted via the Client Area. A brief overview of the transfer process is described below, more detailed instructions can be found within the Knowledge Base.

How do transfers work for .UK domain names?

For all domain names ending in .UK you'll simply need to ask your current registrar to transfer/release the domain name to our tag, EASY-INTERNET. These transfers are usually very quick and often free.

How do transfers work for most other domain names?

For most other extensions (such as .COM, .NET, .EU among others) you'll need to submit a transfer request. When you transfer a domain the following will happen:

  • You make payment to us to transfer — £10.49 for most domains
  • We submit a transfer request for the domain
  • The administrative contact on the domain receives an authorisation email to approve the transfer
  • Once approved the transfer will generally proceed and complete within 5 or 6 days
  • When the transfer is complete your domain will be held with us and will be renewed for an additional year (hence why we require payment)
